| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Lucas Ranfranz has been named valedictorian of the |

| 6 | 6 | | Class of 2023 at West Mesquite High School, and he indeed merits |

| 7 | 7 | | special recognition for receiving this significant honor; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | highest academic standards; in securing his place as the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | top-ranking student in his class, Mr. Ranfranz demonstrated a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | of a notable high school career; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Active in a number of extracurricular activities, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Mr. Ranfranz is a drum major in the school band and host of Mesquite |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | ISD's radio station, and he also has his own podcast in which he |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | discusses Supreme Court briefs; he has received a full-ride |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | scholarship to study political science at Yale University, and he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | aspires to a career in law; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, During his years at West Mesquite High School, Lucas |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Ranfranz has earned the respect and admiration of both his teachers |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Lucas Ranfranz on graduating as |
