 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Lucas Ranfranz has been named valedictorian of the
 Class of 2023 at West Mesquite High School, and he indeed merits
 special recognition for receiving this significant honor; and
 WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
 intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
 highest academic standards; in securing his place as the
 top-ranking student in his class, Mr. Ranfranz demonstrated a
 thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his
 attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement
 of a notable high school career; and
 WHEREAS, Active in a number of extracurricular activities,
 Mr. Ranfranz is a drum major in the school band and host of Mesquite
 ISD's radio station, and he also has his own podcast in which he
 discusses Supreme Court briefs; he has received a full-ride
 scholarship to study political science at Yale University, and he
 aspires to a career in law; and
 WHEREAS, During his years at West Mesquite High School, Lucas
 Ranfranz has earned the respect and admiration of both his teachers
 and classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability and
 commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright and
 promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Lucas Ranfranz on graduating as
 valedictorian of the West Mesquite High School Class of 2023 and
 that he be extended sincere best wishes for continued success as he
 begins the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Ranfranz as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
