| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Hispanic Women's Network of Texas Dallas Chapter |

| 6 | 6 | | held its inaugural Noche de Carnaval scholarship fundraiser and |

| 7 | 7 | | awards reception on March 10, 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Hispanic Women's Network of Texas is dedicated |

| 9 | 9 | | to advancing the educational, social, cultural, legal, and economic |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | well-being of all women and fostering a positive image of Hispanic |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | culture across the state; since the organization's inception in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1986, it has supported a variety of important initiatives, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | including educational and mentoring programs as well as leadership |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | conferences; the organization currently has chapters in Austin, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and the Rio Grande Valley; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Celebrating a wide range of Latino cultures, the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Dallas chapter's Noche de Carnaval event raised funds for the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Latinas in Progress Higher Education Series; festivities included |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | live music and performances, and the event also honored outstanding |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | civic leaders with the Education Partner, Community Partner, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legacy Member of the Year awards; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, By promoting the participation of Latina women in |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | public, corporate, and civic life, the Hispanic Women's Network of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Texas Dallas Chapter has made vital contributions to its community, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and all those involved with the organization are indeed deserving |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | of recognition for their dedicated efforts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby honor the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas |

| 30 | 30 | | Dallas Chapter on the occasion of its inaugural Noche de Carnaval |

| 31 | 31 | | celebration and extend to all those associated with the event |
