H.R. No. 1756 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Hispanic Women's Network of Texas Dallas Chapter held its inaugural Noche de Carnaval scholarship fundraiser and awards reception on March 10, 2023; and WHEREAS, The Hispanic Women's Network of Texas is dedicated to advancing the educational, social, cultural, legal, and economic well-being of all women and fostering a positive image of Hispanic culture across the state; since the organization's inception in 1986, it has supported a variety of important initiatives, including educational and mentoring programs as well as leadership conferences; the organization currently has chapters in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and the Rio Grande Valley; and WHEREAS, Celebrating a wide range of Latino cultures, the Dallas chapter's Noche de Carnaval event raised funds for the Latinas in Progress Higher Education Series; festivities included live music and performances, and the event also honored outstanding civic leaders with the Education Partner, Community Partner, and Legacy Member of the Year awards; and WHEREAS, By promoting the participation of Latina women in public, corporate, and civic life, the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas Dallas Chapter has made vital contributions to its community, and all those involved with the organization are indeed deserving of recognition for their dedicated efforts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby honor the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas Dallas Chapter on the occasion of its inaugural Noche de Carnaval celebration and extend to all those associated with the event sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas Dallas Chapter as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
