| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Denise Jones is being honored for her 50 years of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | exceptional service to the Birdville Independent School District on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | May 16, 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Haltom City, Ms. Jones is a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | product of Birdville ISD, having attended W. T. Francisco |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Elementary School and Haltom Middle School; during her senior year |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | at Haltom High School, she was assigned to the district's |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Curriculum and Instruction Department as a vocational student |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | worker, and she began working as an administrative assistant in the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | afternoon while attending class in the morning; upon her graduation |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | in 1973, she accepted a full-time administrative clerk position |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | with the district; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Subsequently, Ms. Jones served as a curriculum and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | instruction administrative clerk until 1998, when she took on an |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | administrative assistant position in the Special Education |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Department; she continues to work in that division, and for the past |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | several years, she has maintained special education records; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, A voracious reader, Ms. Jones is passionate about |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Texas and Haltom City history, and she enjoys exploring old |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | cemeteries, along with nature trails and exhibits; in her leisure |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | time, she also likes working in her yard, trying new restaurants, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and taking care of her two beloved chihuahuas; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | excellence demonstrated by Denise Jones have greatly benefited |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Birdville ISD, and she has earned the lasting admiration and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | appreciation of the district's faculty, staff, and students; now, |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Legislature hereby commend Denise Jones for her half century of |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | service to Birdville ISD and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
