H.R. No. 1763 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Denise Jones is being honored for her 50 years of exceptional service to the Birdville Independent School District on May 16, 2023; and WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Haltom City, Ms. Jones is a product of Birdville ISD, having attended W. T. Francisco Elementary School and Haltom Middle School; during her senior year at Haltom High School, she was assigned to the district's Curriculum and Instruction Department as a vocational student worker, and she began working as an administrative assistant in the afternoon while attending class in the morning; upon her graduation in 1973, she accepted a full-time administrative clerk position with the district; and WHEREAS, Subsequently, Ms. Jones served as a curriculum and instruction administrative clerk until 1998, when she took on an administrative assistant position in the Special Education Department; she continues to work in that division, and for the past several years, she has maintained special education records; and WHEREAS, A voracious reader, Ms. Jones is passionate about Texas and Haltom City history, and she enjoys exploring old cemeteries, along with nature trails and exhibits; in her leisure time, she also likes working in her yard, trying new restaurants, and taking care of her two beloved chihuahuas; and WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence demonstrated by Denise Jones have greatly benefited Birdville ISD, and she has earned the lasting admiration and appreciation of the district's faculty, staff, and students; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby commend Denise Jones for her half century of service to Birdville ISD and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
