| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, Stacker, an online media service, |

| 9 | 9 | | compiles rankings from the Niche website and publishes Best Public |

| 10 | 10 | | High Schools lists; the rankings are based on a variety of factors, |

| 11 | 11 | | including academic performance, culture and diversity, safety, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | extracurricular activities, and surveys of parents, teachers, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | students; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Serving nearly 800 students, South Texas ISD Science |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Academy earned the 15th spot in the state and the 208th spot in the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | nation; the campus also received an A+ overall grade from Niche and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | claimed first place on the website's list of the Best Public High |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Schools in Hidalgo County; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The education of young people is of great importance |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | to the future of our state, and by providing a positive learning |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | environment, South Texas ISD Science Academy is helping its |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | students to reach their full potential and become engaged and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | productive members of their community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the South Texas Independent School |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | District Science Academy on ranking 15th in Stacker's list of the |

| 27 | 27 | | Top 30 Best Public High Schools in Texas and extend to all those |

| 28 | 28 | | associated with the campus sincere best wishes for continued |
