R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The South Texas Independent School District Science
Academy has been ranked 15th on Stacker's 2023 list of the Top 30
Best Public High Schools in Texas; and
WHEREAS, Each year, Stacker, an online media service,
compiles rankings from the Niche website and publishes Best Public
High Schools lists; the rankings are based on a variety of factors,
including academic performance, culture and diversity, safety,
extracurricular activities, and surveys of parents, teachers, and
students; and
WHEREAS, Serving nearly 800 students, South Texas ISD Science
Academy earned the 15th spot in the state and the 208th spot in the
nation; the campus also received an A+ overall grade from Niche and
claimed first place on the website's list of the Best Public High
Schools in Hidalgo County; and
WHEREAS, The education of young people is of great importance
to the future of our state, and by providing a positive learning
environment, South Texas ISD Science Academy is helping its
students to reach their full potential and become engaged and
productive members of their community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the South Texas Independent School
District Science Academy on ranking 15th in Stacker's list of the
Top 30 Best Public High Schools in Texas and extend to all those
associated with the campus sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
