| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Captain Game Warden Mike Hanson Jr. received a |

| 6 | 6 | | 30-year Service Award from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | on January 26, 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mike Hanson graduated from the 43rd Texas Parks and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Wildlife Department Training Academy in April 1993; he was assigned |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | to his first duty station in Shelby County, where he remained for |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the next two decades, becoming the longest-serving game warden in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the history of the county; in 2012, he was promoted to captain game |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | warden and assumed responsibility for a multicounty area based out |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | of the TPWD law enforcement office in Rusk; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Over the decades, Captain Hanson has earned |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | credentials as a master peace officer and Glock armorer, and he has |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | received numerous accolades, including Game Warden of the Year and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Safari Club Officer of the Year; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Captain Hanson has benefited |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | from the love and support of his wife, Tammy, and he takes great |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | pride in his two children, Macey Jo and Jake; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Through his expertise, professionalism, and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | commitment to the agency's mission, Mike Hanson has greatly |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | benefited TPWD and the citizens of the Lone Star State, and he may |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | indeed reflect with pride on his exceptional record of achievement; |

| 26 | 26 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Captain Game Warden Mike Hanson |
