H.R. No. 2028 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Captain Game Warden Mike Hanson Jr. received a 30-year Service Award from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department on January 26, 2023; and WHEREAS, Mike Hanson graduated from the 43rd Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Training Academy in April 1993; he was assigned to his first duty station in Shelby County, where he remained for the next two decades, becoming the longest-serving game warden in the history of the county; in 2012, he was promoted to captain game warden and assumed responsibility for a multicounty area based out of the TPWD law enforcement office in Rusk; and WHEREAS, Over the decades, Captain Hanson has earned credentials as a master peace officer and Glock armorer, and he has received numerous accolades, including Game Warden of the Year and Safari Club Officer of the Year; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Captain Hanson has benefited from the love and support of his wife, Tammy, and he takes great pride in his two children, Macey Jo and Jake; and WHEREAS, Through his expertise, professionalism, and commitment to the agency's mission, Mike Hanson has greatly benefited TPWD and the citizens of the Lone Star State, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his exceptional record of achievement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Captain Game Warden Mike Hanson Jr. on receiving a 30-year Service Award from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Captain Hanson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
