| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Vasquez of San Antonio has devoted her |

| 6 | 6 | | life to empowering minority communities to break the cycle of |

| 7 | 7 | | generational poverty; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Vasquez currently serves on the board for Ignite |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Community Solutions, which offers evidence-based, trauma-informed |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | approaches to equip youth and adults with the psychological, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | social, and practical tools they need to improve their lives; the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | organization's initiatives include the ClearPath program as well as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | other community resources and learning opportunities; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Through her work with ICS, Ms. Vasquez has played an |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | instrumental role in promoting youth development, helping |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | ex-offenders reenter society, assisting individuals in substance |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | abuse recovery, and addressing unemployment and underemployment; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | in addition, her efforts have helped ICS obtain recognition from |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Choice |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Neighborhoods program; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Admired for her compassionate nature and visionary |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | leadership, Patricia Ann Vasquez has made a positive and meaningful |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | difference in the lives of countless Texans, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | deserving of special recognition for her many contributions; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor Patricia Ann Vasquez for her service to |
