 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Dexter McCoy took office as the Fort Bend County
 commissioner for Precinct 4 in January 2023; and
 WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Mr. McCoy
 draws on a wealth of valuable experience; he began his career in
 public service as an appointee in the Obama administration, where
 he focused on college access issues and addressing harassment in
 schools; following his return from Washington, D.C., he was a
 district leader in the Fort Bend Independent School District;
 furthermore, he served as a board member on the Gulf Coast Workforce
 Board-Workforce Solutions, and he later worked as chief of staff to
 the Fort Bend County Judge, during which time he successfully
 fought for a nonprofit grant program and created an $11 million
 public-private partnership to address key priorities, such as
 expanding Internet access; and
 WHEREAS, A product of Fort Bend County public schools,
 Mr. McCoy holds a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and
 political science from Boston University; in all of his endeavors,
 he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Chelsea, and their
 daughter, Piper; and
 WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
 able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Dexter
 McCoy's skills and experience are sure to serve him well in his new
 role; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Dexter McCoy on his election as the
 Fort Bend County commissioner for Precinct 4 and extend to him
 sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. McCoy as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
