| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, In an outstanding demonstration of physical |

| 6 | 6 | | endurance and mental determination, Terrell resident Robin Dunlap |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | has completed full marathons in all 50 U.S. states; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Dunlap achieved the goal after crossing the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | finish line at a race in Hawaii in January 2022, joining the group |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | of marathoners who have persevered through races in every state in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the nation; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ms. Dunlap |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | was on the cross country team in high school, but it was not until |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the age of 34 that she ran her first 26.2-mile race in the 2004 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Marine Corps Marathon, which takes place in Washington, D.C., and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Virginia; a second marathon, in Ohio, followed a year later, but it |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | wasn't until the 2010s that she began to seriously devote herself to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the goal; in pursuit of entry into the 50-states club, she ran |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | marathons in Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah in a three-day span, and in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | May 2021, she finished races in Connecticut, Rhode Island, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Massachusetts, and New Jersey over the course of four consecutive |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | days; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Dunlap clocked a personal best time of 3 hours, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 55 minutes, at a race in Charleston, Nevada, in April 2022; that |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | accomplishment qualified her to run in the 2023 Boston Marathon, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | which was another of her goals as an athlete; in all her endeavors, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | she benefits from the love and support of her husband, Ray, and her |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | daughters, Ashley and Chloe; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Running marathons in 50 states is an impressive feat |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | realized by a select number of runners, and Robin Dunlap may take |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | justifiable pride in her accomplishment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Robin Dunlap on running marathons |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | in all 50 U.S. states and extend to her sincere best wishes for the |

| 35 | 35 | | future; and, be it further |
