 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, In an outstanding demonstration of physical
 endurance and mental determination, Terrell resident Robin Dunlap
 has completed full marathons in all 50 U.S. states; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Dunlap achieved the goal after crossing the
 finish line at a race in Hawaii in January 2022, joining the group
 of marathoners who have persevered through races in every state in
 the nation; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ms. Dunlap
 was on the cross country team in high school, but it was not until
 the age of 34 that she ran her first 26.2-mile race in the 2004
 Marine Corps Marathon, which takes place in Washington, D.C., and
 Virginia; a second marathon, in Ohio, followed a year later, but it
 wasn't until the 2010s that she began to seriously devote herself to
 the goal; in pursuit of entry into the 50-states club, she ran
 marathons in Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah in a three-day span, and in
 May 2021, she finished races in Connecticut, Rhode Island,
 Massachusetts, and New Jersey over the course of four consecutive
 days; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Dunlap clocked a personal best time of 3 hours,
 55 minutes, at a race in Charleston, Nevada, in April 2022; that
 accomplishment qualified her to run in the 2023 Boston Marathon,
 which was another of her goals as an athlete; in all her endeavors,
 she benefits from the love and support of her husband, Ray, and her
 daughters, Ashley and Chloe; and
 WHEREAS, Running marathons in 50 states is an impressive feat
 realized by a select number of runners, and Robin Dunlap may take
 justifiable pride in her accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Robin Dunlap on running marathons
 in all 50 U.S. states and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
 future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Dunlap as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
