| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Monserrat Garcia Rodriguez has distinguished |

| 6 | 6 | | herself in her responsibilities as an intern in the office of State |

| 7 | 7 | | Representative Victoria Neave Criado during the 88th Legislative |

| 8 | 8 | | Session; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff as a Mexican American |

| 10 | 10 | | Legislative Caucus intern, Ms. Rodriguez has provided vital |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Rodriguez is a student at St. Mary's |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | University, where she serves as president of the Multicultural |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Language Association and as vice president of IGNITE, an |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | organization that encourages young women to run for public office; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | she has received a number of awards, including the Madeleine |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Scholarship, and she was named a 2022 Charles B. Rangel Scholar; a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | native of Eagle Pass, she is the founder of Maverick County Young |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Democrats; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Monserrat Garcia Rodriguez has performed her duties |

| 24 | 24 | | as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commend Monserrat Garcia Rodriguez for her |
