 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
 passing of Kathryn Jean Nielsen Ross on May 15, 2023, at the age of
 63; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of Howard Nielsen and Norita Kitter
 Nielsen, the former Kathy Nielsen was born in Dayton, Ohio, on July
 1, 1959, and she grew up with the companionship of a brother,
 Steven; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Ross enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a
 social worker, and she later established her own business to help
 young girls in need; engaged in politics, she served as a Republican
 precinct chair, and she was involved in a number of conservative
 political groups; in addition, she found great strength in her
 faith and gave generously of her time and talents to several church
 ministries and prayer groups; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Ross was a devoted mother to her daughter,
 Hannah; in her leisure hours, she liked to read and spend time with
 loved ones, and her life was further enriched by her passion for
 food, fashion, and flowers; and
 WHEREAS, Admired for her wisdom, generosity, and grace, Kathy
 Ross brightened the world for all who knew her, and they will
 forever hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Kathryn Jean
 Nielsen Ross and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her
 family: to her daughter, Hannah Faith Ross; to her brother, Steven
 Nielsen, and his wife, Denise; and to her other relatives and many
 friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kathy Ross.
