 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Arlington is marking its
 centennial with a special celebration on June 10, 2023; and
 WHEREAS, Chartered on June 11, 1923, the Rotary Club of
 Arlington is a local chapter of Rotary International, an
 organization of business, professional, and community leaders who
 are dedicated to providing humanitarian services and fostering
 goodwill across the globe; since its founding, the members of the
 Arlington club have steadfastly devoted themselves to the Rotary
 concept of "Service Above Self" by taking part in service projects
 benefiting people in their community and beyond; and
 WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Arlington has supported a variety
 of initiatives in behalf of students in Arlington ISD, including a
 scholarship program and a backpack giveaway at the club's sponsored
 school, Webb Elementary; its many other good works have included
 hosting the "Signs of Humanity" homelessness awareness event,
 donating clothing and toys for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree
 program, and conducting blood drives in partnership with Carter
 Blood Care; and
 WHEREAS, The men and women of this dynamic organization have
 also given generously of their time, talents, and resources to
 international causes; alongside other clubs in the area, the Rotary
 Club of Arlington has undertaken an effort to supply water filters
 for some 25,000 villagers in Honduras; in addition, when Nepal was
 struck by a devastating earthquake in April 2015, the Rotary Club of
 Arlington stepped forward to help rebuild damaged school
 facilities, allowing more than 800 students to return to classes in
 the aftermath of the disaster; and
 WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Arlington has made a positive
 impact in the lives of countless people through the collective
 efforts of its members, past and present, and it is indeed a
 pleasure to join in marking this momentous milestone in the
 organization's history; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby honor the Rotary Club of Arlington on the
 occasion of its centennial and extend to all those associated with
 the organization sincere best wishes for continued success with
 their important work; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
