55 WHEREAS, Raven Hill of James R. Bilhartz Elementary School
66 has been named the 2023 Elementary Teacher of the Year in the
77 Duncanville Independent School District; and
88 WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
99 become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
1010 who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
1111 in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
1212 WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Ms. Hill
1313 has spent four years teaching in Duncanville ISD; she is skilled at
1414 building a supportive classroom environment and keeping her
1515 students engaged and excited about learning; during her tenure, she
1616 has assisted in the development of science curriculum and has
1717 distinguished herself as a mentor for new faculty members and
1818 student teachers; alongside her duties in the classroom, she has
1919 served as the Black History Coordinator, as a Reading Academy
2020 campus tutor, and as a committee leader liaison; and
2121 WHEREAS, Raven Hill exemplifies the passion, determination,
2222 and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers,
2323 and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her
2424 profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Raven Hill on her selection as the
2727 2023 Duncanville ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year and extend to
2828 her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important
2929 work; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for Ms. Hill as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3232 House of Representatives.
