| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Raven Hill of James R. Bilhartz Elementary School |

| 6 | 6 | | has been named the 2023 Elementary Teacher of the Year in the |

| 7 | 7 | | Duncanville Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Ms. Hill |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | has spent four years teaching in Duncanville ISD; she is skilled at |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | building a supportive classroom environment and keeping her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | students engaged and excited about learning; during her tenure, she |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | has assisted in the development of science curriculum and has |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | distinguished herself as a mentor for new faculty members and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | student teachers; alongside her duties in the classroom, she has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | served as the Black History Coordinator, as a Reading Academy |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | campus tutor, and as a committee leader liaison; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Raven Hill exemplifies the passion, determination, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Raven Hill on her selection as the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 2023 Duncanville ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year and extend to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important |
