H.R. No. 2226
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Raven Hill of James R. Bilhartz Elementary School
has been named the 2023 Elementary Teacher of the Year in the
Duncanville Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Ms. Hill
has spent four years teaching in Duncanville ISD; she is skilled at
building a supportive classroom environment and keeping her
students engaged and excited about learning; during her tenure, she
has assisted in the development of science curriculum and has
distinguished herself as a mentor for new faculty members and
student teachers; alongside her duties in the classroom, she has
served as the Black History Coordinator, as a Reading Academy
campus tutor, and as a committee leader liaison; and
WHEREAS, Raven Hill exemplifies the passion, determination,
and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers,
and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her
profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Raven Hill on her selection as the
2023 Duncanville ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year and extend to
her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important
work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Hill as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
