| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Venom Hype Squad is the official dance team for |

| 9 | 9 | | the RGV Vipers, an NBA G League team affiliated with the Houston |

| 10 | 10 | | Rockets; Viva Lopez, who was born with Down syndrome, joined the |

| 11 | 11 | | squad four years ago and has since entertained countless spectators |

| 12 | 12 | | with her impressive dance moves and spunky personality; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Active in the Rio Grande Valley community, Ms. Lopez |

| 14 | 14 | | has distinguished herself through her philanthropic work and her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | efforts to raise awareness about Down syndrome; in 2020, she was one |

| 16 | 16 | | of five Valley residents selected to have their photos shown in a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | video presentation for the 25th annual New York City Buddy Walk's |

| 18 | 18 | | virtual celebration kicking off Down Syndrome Awareness Month; in |

| 19 | 19 | | all her endeavors, she enjoys the love and support of her mother, |

| 20 | 20 | | Mary Jane Lopez; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Viva Lopez has inspired everyone around her with her |

| 22 | 22 | | talent, hard work, and commitment to excellence, and she may indeed |

| 23 | 23 | | take pride in her many accomplishments as she embarks on the next |

| 24 | 24 | | exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby honor Viva Selena Marie Lopez on the occasion of |
