H.R. No. 2262 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Panhandle FFA Farm Business Management team earned great distinction with its performance at the State Farm and Agribusiness Management Contest held at Sam Houston State University on April 28, 2023; and WHEREAS, FFA Career Development Events are designed to help students prepare for a career in agriculture by testing and challenging their technical, leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, as well as their knowledge of the subject matter; individuals competing in Farm and Agribusiness Management CDEs apply management skills and economic principles to various agriculture and agribusiness situations as they complete a written exam and solve farm analysis problems; and WHEREAS, The Panhandle FFA Farm Business Management team of Kaleb Parra, Jack Sinclair, Logan Leisher, and Samuel Weinheimer delivered an exceptional performance and earned third place overall with an aggregate score of 579 on the exam; furthermore, Mr. Weinheimer was named as the first-place contestant after earning a total score of 227, the highest individual score at the competition; and WHEREAS, Through countless hours of preparation and an unwavering commitment to excellence, the members of the Panhandle FFA Farm Business Management team have brought tremendous credit to their school and their community, and they may take justifiable pride in their outstanding accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Kaleb Parra, Jack Sinclair, Logan Leisher, and Samuel Weinheimer on their exemplary performances at the 2023 State Farm and Agribusiness Management Contest and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
