5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Michelle Dean has earned great distinction with her |

6 | 6 | | outstanding service as principal of Frank Black Middle School in |

7 | 7 | | the Houston Independent School District; and |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of a career in education that has |
---|
9 | 9 | | spanned more than three decades, Ms. Dean has served Houston ISD |
---|
10 | 10 | | for over 20 years; she taught science at Bellaire High School before |
---|
11 | 11 | | becoming the seventh-grade dean of students at Black Middle School |
---|
12 | 12 | | in 2016, and she was named the Houston ISD 1st Year Principal of the |
---|
13 | 13 | | Year for 2022-2023; she holds a bachelor's degree from Sam Houston |
---|
14 | 14 | | State University and a master's degree in educational leadership |
---|
15 | 15 | | from Stephen F. Austin State University; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A quality education is critical to the continuing |
---|
17 | 17 | | vitality of our state, and Michelle Dean is playing an instrumental |
---|
18 | 18 | | role in helping students to reach their full potential and become |
---|
19 | 19 | | engaged and productive members of their community; now, therefore, |
---|
20 | 20 | | be it |

21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby commend Michelle Dean for her contributions as |

23 | 23 | | principal of Frank Black Middle School and extend to her sincere |

24 | 24 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
