H.R. No. 2287 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Michelle Dean has earned great distinction with her outstanding service as principal of Frank Black Middle School in the Houston Independent School District; and WHEREAS, Over the course of a career in education that has spanned more than three decades, Ms. Dean has served Houston ISD for over 20 years; she taught science at Bellaire High School before becoming the seventh-grade dean of students at Black Middle School in 2016, and she was named the Houston ISD 1st Year Principal of the Year for 2022-2023; she holds a bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University and a master's degree in educational leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University; and WHEREAS, A quality education is critical to the continuing vitality of our state, and Michelle Dean is playing an instrumental role in helping students to reach their full potential and become engaged and productive members of their community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby commend Michelle Dean for her contributions as principal of Frank Black Middle School and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Dean as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
