| 7 | 7 | | basketball team distinguished itself by advancing all the way to |

| 8 | 8 | | the University Interscholastic League 4A state championship game on |

| 9 | 9 | | March 11 at the Alamodome in San Antonio; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The Golden Eagles enjoyed a stellar regular season, |

| 11 | 11 | | compiling a 15-1 record against their league rivals and claiming |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the District 21-4A crown; they continued to excel in the playoffs, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | dispatching Taylor, Gatesville, Houston Yates, and Center High |

| 14 | 14 | | Schools to reach the regional final; there, the team defeated |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Silsbee High 78-70 and punched its ticket to the state semifinals |

| 16 | 16 | | for the first time since 1952, when the school was a member of the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Prairie View Interscholastic League; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Opening the state tournament against Boerne High |

| 19 | 19 | | School, the Golden Eagles rallied from a one-point halftime deficit |

| 20 | 20 | | to triumph by a final score of 75-69 and earn a berth in the finals; |

| 21 | 21 | | the Washington players made a strong showing in the title contest |

| 22 | 22 | | against defending state champion Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy but |

| 23 | 23 | | ultimately finished as the 4A runner-up, concluding their |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | unforgettable season with an overall record of 29 wins and 8 losses; |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Golden Eagles |

| 29 | 29 | | benefited from the guidance of head coach Vincent Grayson and his |
