| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Carrie Flores has earned great distinction with her |

| 6 | 6 | | outstanding service as principal of Durham Elementary School in the |

| 7 | 7 | | Houston Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the |

| 9 | 9 | | students, faculty, and staff of Durham Elementary School, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Ms. Flores has led the way in fostering a supportive and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | challenging educational environment on campus; previously, she |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | served as a teacher, a gifted and talented coordinator, and an |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | assistant principal at Pilgrim Academy; she holds a bachelor's |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | degree from the University of Houston and a master's degree in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | educational administration from California State University, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Bakersfield; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A quality education is critical to the continuing |

| 18 | 18 | | vitality of our state, and Carrie Flores is playing an instrumental |

| 19 | 19 | | role in helping students to reach their full potential and become |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | engaged and productive members of their community; now, therefore, |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby commend Carrie Flores for her contributions as |

| 24 | 24 | | principal of Durham Elementary School and extend to her sincere |

| 25 | 25 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
