 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Texas native Jon Randall has been selected for
 induction into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame as a member of the
 Class of 2024; and
 WHEREAS, Each year, the Texas Heritage Songwriters'
 Association holds an annual hall of fame awards ceremony to
 recognize songwriters who represent the spirit of the Lone Star
 State; and
 WHEREAS, Born Jon Randall Stewart in Dallas, Jon Randall has
 distinguished himself as a songwriter, guitarist, and producer for
 several leading country, bluegrass, and Americana acts; after
 moving to Nashville, he first garnered attention playing guitar
 with Emmylou Harris and the Nash Ramblers; the group's album At the
 Ryman (Live) won a Grammy award in 1992, and he landed a recording
 contract with RCA Nashville; he made his debut with What You Don't
 Know in 1995, and in the following decade, he would go on to release
 Willin' and Walking Among the Living and to score chart appearances
 with the singles "Cold Coffee Morning" and "This Heart"; in 2021, he
 released "Keep On Moving" and a four-track project called Neon
 Texas; and
 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Randall has cowritten
 countless hits, including the Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss
 platinum single "Whiskey Lullaby," which won the 2005 Country Music
 Association Song Of The Year Award, and several songs from Dierks
 Bentley's 2010 release, Up on the Ridge, a Grammy Award nominee for
 Best Country Album; "Tin Man," a tune he wrote with Miranda Lambert
 and Jack Ingram, was nominated for the 2018 Grammy Award for Best
 Country Song, and the three reunited in 2021 for the acclaimed
 album, The Marfa Tapes; moreover, Mr. Randall has produced solo
 efforts from Mr. Ingram as well as works by Parker McCollum, Dwight
 Yoakam, Chase Bryant, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, among others;
 and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of a remarkable career that has
 spanned more than three decades, Jon Randall has penned some of the
 most memorable songs of our time, and his work will continue to move
 and inspire music lovers for generations to come; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Jon Randall on his selection as a
 2024 inductee into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame and extend to
 him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Randall as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
