| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Coppell Independent School District is making |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | vital contributions to the strength and vitality of its community |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | by providing area students with a solid educational foundation on |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | which to build; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Based in the city of Coppell, the district also |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | serves families in Lewisville, Valley Ranch, Grapevine, North |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Irving, and Dallas; the dedicated faculty and staff teach more than |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 13,000 students at the district's 18 schools; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of superintendent Dr. Brad |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Hunt, the district seeks to foster an environment in which students |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | excel in every aspect of their education; among its numerous |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | successes, the district has produced many National Merit Scholar |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | finalists and semifinalists, and a number of district students have |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | won state sports contests, achieved state recognition in fine arts, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and taken part in national competitions; moreover, the district's |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | graduates have gone on to attend prestigious state and national |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | universities, enlist in the military, and establish successful |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | careers; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Coppell ISD collaborates with the City of Coppell |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, as well as area businesses and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | educational institutions, to build a thriving, inclusive, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | educationally focused community; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, The Coppell Independent School District is |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | committed to creating profound learning experiences for each child, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | to nurturing meaningful relationships, and to making a positive |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | impact on our world, and it is indeed deserving of recognition at |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | this time; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Legislature hereby honor the Coppell Independent School District |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | for its service to the Dallas area and extend to all those |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | associated with the district sincere best wishes for the future; |
