H.R. No. 500
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Mario Flores of Benbrook Middle-High School
received well-deserved recognition when he was presented with the
2022-2023 Academic Chair for Teaching Excellence in Health and
Physical Education; and
WHEREAS, Established by the Fort Worth Independent School
District, this prestigious accolade celebrates 16 elementary and
secondary school teachers who demonstrate a commitment to
excellence in one of 15 categories of instruction; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Flores was honored as the Blue Zones Project
health and physical education chair for secondary schools; a
graduate of Texas Christian University with nearly three decades of
teaching experience, he strives to build relationships with his
students and to create a positive classroom atmosphere where
everyone is encouraged to take risks, express themselves, share
ideas, and actively engage in their learning; and
WHEREAS, Mario Flores exemplifies the passion,
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all
in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Mario Flores on his selection as
the 2022-2023 Academic Chair for Teaching Excellence in Health and
Physical Education by the Fort Worth Independent School District
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his
important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Flores as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
