| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Joshua G. Torres of McLean Middle School has been |

| 6 | 6 | | named the 2022-2023 Chase Chair for Teaching Excellence in |

| 7 | 7 | | Secondary English by the Fort Worth Independent School District; |

|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Academic Chairs for Teaching Excellence program |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | recognizes outstanding educators in Fort Worth ISD; winners receive |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | a $5,000 honorarium and hold their title for one year, during which |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | time they share their knowledge with their fellow teachers and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | assist with district programs and departments; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A fitting recipient of this notable honor, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Mr. Torres has been teaching for six years; he holds a bachelor's |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | from Texas Christian University, and he is currently working on his |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | dissertation at TCU; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Joshua Torres exemplifies the passion and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | dedication that are the hallmarks of our best teachers, and he has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | set a standard to which all in his profession may aspire; now, |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
