H.R. No. 672
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Anahuac Independent School District FFA
Agricultural Mechanics Team turned in an exceptional showing at the
2023 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo; and
WHEREAS, Competing in a field of more than 2,000 exhibitors
in the Agricultural Mechanics Project Show, Anahuac team members
John Wayne Ashley, Gabriel Munoz, R. C. Hues, and Jacob Abernathy
were honored with the Showmanship Grand Champion award; over the
course of the day, the quartet spent some 12 hours presenting and
describing their work in detail to judges and the public; and
WHEREAS, The Anahuac squad additionally placed fourth in its
class as part of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Agricultural
Mechanics Project Show; and
WHEREAS, Demonstrating outstanding talent, hard work, and
dedication, the members of the Anahuac agricultural mechanics team
have brought great pride to their school and to their many
supporters in the community, and their accomplishments indeed merit
special recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Anahuac ISD FFA Agricultural
Mechanics Team on its receipt of the Showmanship Grand Champion
award at the 2023 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and that its
members be extended sincere best wishes for continued success; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
