 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Judson High School Unified Special Olympics team
 reached the pinnacle of success by winning the 2023 Unified
 Basketball University Interscholastic League state championship;
 and
 WHEREAS, Competing on March 6 in San Antonio, Judson battled
 for the state crown against the talented team from Huntsville High
 School; the Rockets turned in an exceptional performance, emerging
 triumphant by the final score of 33-24 to claim their inaugural
 state title; and
 WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Rockets
 received valuable contributions from each member of the roster;
 these determined student-athletes benefit from the leadership of
 head coach Amy Paul, an adaptive physical education teacher who
 serves as the Judson Independent School District head of delegation
 for Special Olympics; and
 WHEREAS, Judson is in its second year of participation with
 Unified Champion Schools, a UIL-sanctioned Special Olympics
 program that works in partnership with the U.S. Department of
 Education to promote inclusion and acceptance among students with
 and without intellectual disabilities; moreover, the initiative
 fosters the principles of respect, dignity, and unity while
 empowering youth to create a supportive environment on campus; and
 WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
 culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
 commitment to excellence, and the Judson Rockets are a source of
 great pride to their families, their school, and their many
 supporters in the community; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Judson High School Unified
 Special Olympics team on winning the 2023 Unified Basketball UIL
 state championship and extend to the players, coaches, and staff
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Rockets as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
