| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Cypress Christian School has distinguished itself |

| 6 | 6 | | with its receipt of the 2020-2021 Class 4A Henderson Cup from the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious award honors the best overall |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | private school in the state by considering achievements in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | athletics, fine arts, and academic competitions; more than 25 |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | schools vied for the 4A title; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In addition to outstanding performances by a number |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of sports teams, Cypress Christian School students earned 69 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | academic All-State Awards, which are given to athletes who have |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | qualified for a state tournament or been voted to an All-District |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | team while maintaining at least a 90 percent academic average; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | moreover, several students earned state championship titles in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | academic contests; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, CCS serves students in the north Houston area from |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | kindergarten through 12th grade; it is ably led by head of school |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Dr. Jeffrey Potts; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Through hard work and perseverance, the teachers and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | students of Cypress Christian School have established a record of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | scholastic excellence, and their outstanding efforts have been duly |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | recognized with the Henderson Cup; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Cypress Christian School on |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | receiving the 2020-2021 Class 4A Henderson Cup from the Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Association of Private and Parochial Schools and extend to all |

| 30 | 30 | | those associated with the school sincere best wishes for the |
