 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Cypress Christian School has distinguished itself
 with its receipt of the 2020-2021 Class 4A Henderson Cup from the
 Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools; and
 WHEREAS, This prestigious award honors the best overall
 private school in the state by considering achievements in
 athletics, fine arts, and academic competitions; more than 25
 schools vied for the 4A title; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to outstanding performances by a number
 of sports teams, Cypress Christian School students earned 69
 academic All-State Awards, which are given to athletes who have
 qualified for a state tournament or been voted to an All-District
 team while maintaining at least a 90 percent academic average;
 moreover, several students earned state championship titles in
 academic contests; and
 WHEREAS, CCS serves students in the north Houston area from
 kindergarten through 12th grade; it is ably led by head of school
 Dr. Jeffrey Potts; and
 WHEREAS, Through hard work and perseverance, the teachers and
 students of Cypress Christian School have established a record of
 scholastic excellence, and their outstanding efforts have been duly
 recognized with the Henderson Cup; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Cypress Christian School on
 receiving the 2020-2021 Class 4A Henderson Cup from the Texas
 Association of Private and Parochial Schools and extend to all
 those associated with the school sincere best wishes for the
 future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Cypress Christian School as an expression of high
 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
