H.R. No. 922 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived remain to comfort the family and friends of Emmett Lee Grumbles of San Saba, who passed away on May 24, 2022, at the age of 84; and WHEREAS, A native of San Saba, Emmett Grumbles was the son of Irvin and Roxie Taylor Grumbles, and he grew up with the companionship of a brother, John Pat; he graduated from high school in 1956 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University; answering his nation's call to duty, he served in the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of captain before returning to civilian life; and WHEREAS, In 1972, Mr. Grumbles embarked upon a career as a game warden with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department that spanned more than two decades; and WHEREAS, Following his retirement in 1993, Mr. Grumbles moved back to his family farm in San Saba; he loved to visit local coffee shops and restaurants, and in his leisure time, he took pleasure in fishing, boating, and golfing; and WHEREAS, Emmett Grumbles led a life of honorable and dedicated service to his country and his state, and his achievements will long be a source of inspiration to those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Emmett Lee Grumbles and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Emmett Grumbles.
