R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Plano firefighter Stephanie Bouillion-Mayer has
achieved great distinction by obtaining urban search and rescue
specialist certification from the Texas A&M Engineering Extension
Service in 2023; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Plano Fire-Rescue department,
Ms. Bouillion-Mayer is the first woman in the Lone Star State to be
named a US&R rescue specialist; she began working toward the
certification in 2014; and
WHEREAS, The Rescue Training Program is conducted by the
Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, an internationally
recognized leader in emergency response training, workforce
training, and technical assistance; designed for members of search
and rescue task force teams, the course requires more than 300 hours
of education and provides the highest level of training in
structural collapse rescue operations; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie Bouillion-Mayer has exemplified the
highest ideals of her profession while contributing to the safety
and well-being of area citizens, and her receipt of this
prestigious certification is an inspiration to her fellow emergency
responders in Texas and beyond; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Stephanie Bouillion-Mayer on
earning urban search and rescue specialist certification from the
Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service and extend to her sincere
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Bouillion-Mayer as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
