| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Michael Sorola has been honored with the EXCEL Award |

| 6 | 6 | | for the South San Antonio Independent School District from the KENS |

| 7 | 7 | | 5 television station; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, KENS 5 presents its EXCEL Awards to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | recognize outstanding educators from local school districts; |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Michael Sorola received the award during a surprise ceremony on |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | March 21, 2023; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Sorola is a physics teacher at South San Antonio |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | High School, where he serves as head of the science department; in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | addition to his work in the classroom, he contributes to the campus |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | community by coaching the robotics team and leading the science |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | club; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Michael Sorola has |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | made a positive difference in the lives of countless young Texans, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and his dedication, expertise, and innovative spirit have earned |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | him the lasting respect and admiration of his students and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | colleagues alike; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Sorola on receiving the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | KENS 5 EXCEL Award for the South San Antonio Independent School |

| 25 | 25 | | District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
