R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Michael Sorola has been honored with the EXCEL Award
for the South San Antonio Independent School District from the KENS
5 television station; and
WHEREAS, Each year, KENS 5 presents its EXCEL Awards to
recognize outstanding educators from local school districts;
Michael Sorola received the award during a surprise ceremony on
March 21, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sorola is a physics teacher at South San Antonio
High School, where he serves as head of the science department; in
addition to his work in the classroom, he contributes to the campus
community by coaching the robotics team and leading the science
club; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Michael Sorola has
made a positive difference in the lives of countless young Texans,
and his dedication, expertise, and innovative spirit have earned
him the lasting respect and admiration of his students and
colleagues alike; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Sorola on receiving the
KENS 5 EXCEL Award for the South San Antonio Independent School
District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success in his important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Sorola as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
