5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Candice Anaya has been honored with the EXCEL Award |

6 | 6 | | for the Somerset Independent School District from the KENS 5 |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, KENS 5 presents its EXCEL Awards to |

9 | 9 | | recognize outstanding educators from local school districts; and |

10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Candice Anaya is the lead Reading, Language Arts, |

11 | 11 | | and Social Studies teacher for third grade at Barrera Veterans |

12 | 12 | | Elementary School; she takes great satisfaction in inspiring her |

13 | 13 | | pupils to succeed, and she uses her own experience with dyslexia to |

14 | 14 | | encourage her students to persevere when they face challenges; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Candice Anaya has |

16 | 16 | | made a positive difference in the lives of countless young Texans, |

17 | 17 | | and her dedication, expertise, and innovative spirit have earned |

18 | 18 | | her the lasting respect and admiration of her students and |

19 | 19 | | colleagues alike; now, therefore, be it |

20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

21 | 21 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Candice Anaya on receiving the KENS |
