R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Candice Anaya has been honored with the EXCEL Award
for the Somerset Independent School District from the KENS 5
television station; and
WHEREAS, Each year, KENS 5 presents its EXCEL Awards to
recognize outstanding educators from local school districts; and
WHEREAS, Candice Anaya is the lead Reading, Language Arts,
and Social Studies teacher for third grade at Barrera Veterans
Elementary School; she takes great satisfaction in inspiring her
pupils to succeed, and she uses her own experience with dyslexia to
encourage her students to persevere when they face challenges; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Candice Anaya has
made a positive difference in the lives of countless young Texans,
and her dedication, expertise, and innovative spirit have earned
her the lasting respect and admiration of her students and
colleagues alike; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Candice Anaya on receiving the KENS
5 EXCEL Award for the Somerset Independent School District and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in her
important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Anaya as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
