55 relating to the compensation of an election judge or clerk.
66 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
77 SECTION 1. Section 32.091(b), Election Code, is amended to
88 read as follows:
99 (b) A judge or clerk may not be paid for more than two hours
1010 [one hour] of work before the polls open, except for payment made
1111 for work under Section 62.014(c). In a precinct in which voting
1212 machines are used, a judge or clerk may not be paid for more than two
1313 hours of work after the time for closing the polls or after the last
1414 voter has voted, whichever is later.
1515 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
