55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to authorization and reimbursement for certain
88 examination fee subsidies paid for public school teachers and
99 students.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Sections 29.190(a-1) and (b), Education Code,
1212 are amended to read as follows:
1313 (a-1) A student may [not] receive more than one subsidy
1414 under this section.
1515 (b) A teacher is entitled to a subsidy under this section if
1616 the teacher passes a certification examination related to career
1717 and technology education [cybersecurity].
1818 SECTION 2. Section 48.156, Education Code, is amended to
1919 read as follows:
2020 Sec. 48.156. CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION REIMBURSEMENT. A
2121 school district is entitled to reimbursement for the amount of a
2222 subsidy paid by the district for each [a student's] certification
2323 examination under Section 29.190(a) as provided by Section
2424 29.190(c).
2525 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
