| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 52.072, Election Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (g) A proposition described by Subsection (f) must: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (1) state the amount of or maximum tax rate of the tax |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | or tax increase for which approval is sought; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (2) except as provided by Subdivision (3), be printed |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in mixed-case typewritten letters; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (3) include, in capital typewritten letters of the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | same font size as the rest of the proposition, the statement "THIS |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | IS A TAX INCREASE." |

| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | an election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
