A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the authority of a county to administer a used tire buy
back program.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 361.153(a), Health and Safety Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(a) A county may appropriate and spend money from its
general revenues to manage solid waste and to administer a solid
waste program, including a program to buy back used tires or tires
that may no longer be used for their intended purpose, and may
charge reasonable fees for those services.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
