A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to authorizing the issuance of a special hospital license
to certain establishments.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 241.023, Health and Safety Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (c-4) to read as follows:
(c-4) The executive commissioner shall adopt rules and
standards to allow an establishment that specializes in providing
services to infants diagnosed with neonatal abstinence syndrome to
be licensed as a special hospital under this section.
SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2023, the executive
commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission shall
adopt the rules and standards necessary to implement Section
241.023(c-4), Health and Safety Code, as added by this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
