The bill would amend Transportation Code, Section 203.092, relating to reimbursement for relocation of utility facilities required by improvements to certain state highway facilities, to include water supply or sewer service corporations organized and operating under Water Code, Chapter 67, as eligible entities for reimbursement under the Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) existing utility reimbursement program. Based on the information provided by the TxDOT, it is assumed any costs associated with reimbursements for relocation of utility facilities authorized by the bill would be accommodated within the department's existing highway planning and construction funding sources.
