| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 51.302, Education Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (d) A college or university receiving state support or state |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | aid from public funds that does not offer at least three semester |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | credit hours or the equivalent in Texas History to undergraduate |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | students shall enter into an agreement with another postsecondary |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | educational institution to offer to the college or university's |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | undergraduate students at least three semester credit hours or the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | equivalent in Texas History. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2023-2024 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | academic year. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
