55 relating to the issuance of a temporary teaching certificate to and
66 requirements regarding educator certification for certain persons
77 with experience as instructors for the Community College of the Air

99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 21, Education Code, is
1111 amended by adding Section 21.0525 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 21.0525. CERTIFICATION OF CERTAIN MILITARY
1313 INSTRUCTORS; TEMPORARY TEACHING CERTIFICATE. (a) The board shall
1414 propose rules providing for a person who holds a bachelor's degree
1515 and has at least two semesters' experience as a full-time
1616 instructor for the Community College of the Air Force to:
1717 (1) be issued a temporary teaching certificate on the
1818 person's enrollment in an educator preparation program; and
1919 (2) receive credit for the person's education,
2020 training, and clinical or professional experience as an instructor
2121 for the Community College of the Air Force toward the requirements
2222 for completion of an educator preparation program, including
2323 requirements regarding coursework, field-based experience, or
2424 clinical experience.
2525 (b) A temporary teaching certificate issued under this
2626 section is valid for a term of one year from the date of issuance.
2727 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
