| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 21, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 21.0525 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 21.0525. CERTIFICATION OF CERTAIN MILITARY |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | INSTRUCTORS; TEMPORARY TEACHING CERTIFICATE. (a) The board shall |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | propose rules providing for a person who holds a bachelor's degree |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and has at least two semesters' experience as a full-time |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | instructor for the Community College of the Air Force to: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (1) be issued a temporary teaching certificate on the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | person's enrollment in an educator preparation program; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (2) receive credit for the person's education, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | training, and clinical or professional experience as an instructor |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | for the Community College of the Air Force toward the requirements |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | for completion of an educator preparation program, including |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | requirements regarding coursework, field-based experience, or |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | clinical experience. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (b) A temporary teaching certificate issued under this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | section is valid for a term of one year from the date of issuance. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
