7 | 14 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

8 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Section 49-g(g), Article III, Texas |
---|
9 | 16 | | Constitution, is amended to read as follows: |
---|
10 | 17 | | (g) During each fiscal biennium, the amount in the economic |
---|
11 | 18 | | stabilization fund may not exceed an amount equal to 15 [10] percent |
---|
12 | 19 | | of the total amount, excluding investment income, interest income, |
---|
13 | 20 | | and amounts borrowed from special funds, deposited in general |
---|
14 | 21 | | revenue during the preceding biennium. |

15 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
---|
16 | 23 | | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2023. |

17 | 24 | | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
---|
18 | 25 | | proposition: "The constitutional amendment to raise the maximum |
---|
19 | 26 | | allowable amount of money in the economic stabilization fund." |
