 SENATE RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Jennifer Jones on nearly 30 years of outstanding
 service as a member of the Sunset Advisory Commission and on her
 recent retirement as executive director; and
 WHEREAS, The Sunset Commission was established in 1977 as
 a legislative advisory body to address the operations and
 efficiency of Texas state agencies; Jennifer Jones has been a
 valued member of the commission for nearly three decades and has
 been an exemplar of responsibility and integrity in all aspects
 of her service; Jennifer's commitment to excellence set a high
 standard for producing essential documents to enable the
 commission to carry out its objectives; and
 WHEREAS, Jennifer's uncompromising work ethic and astute
 judgment prompted her appointment as executive director of the
 Sunset Advisory Commission, where she hired and managed some 30
 staff members; under her direction, the commission conducted
 reviews to evaluate the performance and cost-effectiveness of
 state agencies and to ensure that agencies functioned according
 to established standards of excellence; and
 WHEREAS, During her tenure as executive director, Jennifer
 oversaw the research and review staff that prepared reports, and
 she supported the Sunset Advisory Commission in its
 determinations with respect to state agencies; she will continue
 to work for all Texans in her new role at the Texas General Land
 Office, where she will serve as senior advisor to the
 commissioner and as deputy director of government relations;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
 Legislature, hereby commend Jennifer Jones on her distinguished
 tenure of service with the Sunset Advisory Commission and extend
 to her best wishes for success in all of her future endeavors;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
