| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Thompson Brewer McLeod for achieving the rank of |

| 4 | 4 | | Eagle Scout; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, This exemplary young man is a member of Scouts BSA |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Troop 51 in Jackson, Mississippi; he recently joined the elite |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | corps of Eagles and received the coveted Eagle Badge at a Court of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Honor; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor and only a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | small percentage of participants in the Scouts BSA program attain |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the rank of Eagle Scout; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | promise, Thompson advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Scout; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Thompson displayed impressive leadership through |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | planning, developing, and conducting a service project that |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | benefited the Dallas community; for his project, he organized and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | facilitated the "Equal Footing for the Homeless Sock and Shoe |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Drive," which resulted in the collection and donation of more |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | than 800 footwear items to local non-profit organizations; he is |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | truly a shining example to his fellow Scouts and the young people |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of Texas; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Thompson has brought |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | his state; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend Thompson McLeod on receiving this |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | achievement; and, be it further |
